Thank you for considering Sammy’s Pet Boarding!

 

I have a great deal of experience with, and a complete love for animals.  I grew up with cats and dogs and went onto farming where I worked with every kind of farm animal and continued to extend my family with more cats, dogs, and caged pets from birds to chinchillas.  All of our pets are adopted from shelters or were strays and are certainly a huge part of our family.

 

I came up with the name of Sammy’s Pet Boarding in honor of my dog that I had adopted at the age of 5 weeks. Sammy went on to greener pastures in 2005 at the age of 12 years.  He was such a big part of our life and is still sadly missed.  However, his “little sister” Abbie, another pup we adopted, has graced us with her presence and keeps us on our toes as well as another dog we call Diegler...Which would be Abbie's "little brother".

 

Although I do not have an official building up as of yet, I am using outdoor runs and indoor facilities to board the pets.  A building is in the works for the future.  I am licensed to board dogs, cats, and caged pets.  I also encourage you to come and visit my kennels and bring your pet(s) with you before you board.  Where ever you decide to board you should always visit ahead of time, meet the owners and see how they interact with your pet.  You will get a good idea of the operation and see how the other guests staying at the kennels behave.  If they seem happy and outgoing, then you have probably found a good place.

YOU MUST PROVIDE PROOF THAT YOUR PET HAS UP-TO-DATE VACCINATIONS.

 

 

Dogs must also have a vaccination called Kennel Cough or Bordetella.  This is a vaccination that is in addition to their yearly core shots. 

 

THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS 

 

If your dog has never had the Bordetella vaccine, it needs to be administered once then boostered at 4 weeks.  Your dog is not completely protected until such time as it has had it's booster.  Ideally, you would want to have the booster administered 2 weeks before boarding.
